Educational Assistant Student Support

Support diverse learners at Richard S. Fowler Catholic Junior High School through student-centered assistance and positive behavioural strategies each morning. This temporary part-time position offers 16.25 weekly hours.

Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools seeks an Educational Assistant to assist students with mild to severe needs. Support may involve intellectual, emotional-behavioural, learning, hearing, vision, communication, language, physical, or medical needs. The role includes Individual Program Plans, social skills, emotional regulation, and assistive technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students with mild to severe learning and support needs
• Implement Individual Program Plans with classroom teams
• Apply positive behavioural and proactive intervention strategies
• Model social skills and teach emotional regulation
• Support Google Apps and communication assistive technology

Requirements:

• Education Assistant Program completion or equivalent post-secondary training
• Experience supporting diverse learners, preferably autistic students
• Experience using visual, sensory, and reinforcement supports
• Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and teamwork
• Ability to lift and toilet students when required
