Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician Field Service

Diagnose heavy equipment in field service with Big Country Equipment using mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and drivetrain expertise. Work a 14-days-on, 14-days-off rotation.

Big Country Equipment seeks an experienced licensed Heavy-Duty Mechanic or Equipment Technician. You will support mining and construction customers across Western Canada with field diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs. Company-provided tools support work on Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, and John Deere equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy equipment
• Complete field-service repairs across multiple equipment brands
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and drivetrain issues
• Use computerized diagnostic software and testing equipment
• Prepare service reports and test repaired equipment

Requirements:

• Three or more years diagnosing heavy or off-road equipment
• Valid provincial Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician certification preferred
• Recent field-service experience preferred, ideally independently from service trucks
• Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical and hydraulic systems
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License and English proficiency
