Child Protection Case Assistant

Support child protection services in Prince Albert as a Case Assistant, coordinating placements, supervised visits, transportation, and referrals.

The Ministry of Social Services seeks a Case Assistant for term positions within the North Service Area. Working in Child and Family Programs, you will provide operational support to a child protection unit under a supervisor’s direction. The work includes case research, conferences, family support referrals, and Treaty or Metis status registration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Explore placement options for children
• Arrange and supervise visits
• Transport children to and from placements
• Coordinate case conferences and support referrals
• Research files and provide background information

Requirements:

• Ability to support child protection unit operations
• Ability to observe and record interviews
• Ability to assist with child safety risk assessments
• Ability to make recommendations supporting child safety
• Ability to complete Treaty or Metis status registration
