Our energy client is seeking a Project Buyer IV (7+ years) to lead sourcing and procurement for complex electrical equipment using RFx and Oracle (R12/Cloud)

Drive a high-impact procurement role central to an electrical program supporting a large portfolio of capital projects. You will oversee complex sourcing for long lead time, high-value electrical equipment and services, leading RFx, bid evaluation, negotiations, and contract execution in collaboration with SCM partners and the Project team. The scope includes planning, reporting, and forecasting on SCM activities with governance compliance across the program. This contract offers a hybrid schedule (Mon/Tue/Thu in office; Wed/Fri from home) across Calgary, Edmonton, or Houston with minimal travel.

Must Haves

• 7+ years in Supply Chain Management (SCM)
• Purchasing of complex electrical equipment for large energy projects
• RFx development and execution; contract management; marking up and negotiating complex commercial contracts
• ERP for PO creation, specifically Oracle (R12 or Cloud)
• University degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field

Nice to Have

• 10+ years of procurement in power, electrical transmission, liquids, or natural gas
• Postgraduate qualification or MBA
• SCMP / CPSM designation or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Source complex, long lead time, high-value electrical equipment and services for a large capital expansion project
• Secure early market commitments to ensure capacity for in-service dates
• Develop materials and services strategies with SCM Business Partners, Category Managers, and the Project team
• Lead proposal solicitation (RFx)
• Evaluate bids (bid tab)
• Negotiate contracts
• Ensure compliance with SCM and enterprise governance
