Food Production Packaging Technician
Operate food packaging equipment at Golden West Baking on Anacis Island, applying HACCP regulations, WCB safety guidelines, and quality controls across rotating shifts.
This Production Technician role supports English muffin and bun manufacturing for foodservice and retail. Technicians rotate through culler, take-off, and extra positions every two hours or after breaks and lunches. The team verifies customer requirements, packaging accuracy, documentation, and final product quality. Work is directed by the Bagger Operator and reported to the Supervisor. Golden West Baking is part of CH Guenther and Son, a company with over 150 years of history.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect muffins against customer requirements before bagging
- Clear equipment jam-ups and assist with machine changes
- Tray, box, stack, and organize packaged products
- Complete metal detector checks and required log sheets
- Communicate product loss, QA issues, and machine problems
Requirements:
- Ability to lift and handle up to 20 kilograms regularly
- Strong organizational skills
- Understanding of proper lifting and handling techniques
- Participation in required muffin forking inspections
- Willingness to follow GMP, HACCP, and WCB guidelines
