Coordinate newsroom resources and breaking-news coverage as a part-time Assignment Editor with OMNI Television in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Rogers Sports & Media seeks an innovative Assignment Editor for special projects and weekend newsgathering. You will apply knowledge of national news, diverse communities, and editorial priorities. The work requires communication, organization, and sound editorial judgment to develop lead-worthy content.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assign resources with producers and bureau managers
• Chase interviewees and guide ENG operators
• Organize and book feeds
• Respond quickly and accurately to breaking news
• Coordinate coverage with Rogers departments and broadcast partners

Requirements:

• Three years of newsroom editorial experience
• Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills
• Proficient computer and newsroom software skills
• Journalism or broadcasting degree, diploma, or equivalent experience
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
