Sessional Lecturer Creative Writing Poetry

Teach ENG373H5S Creative Writing: Poetry at the University of Toronto, guiding experiments with poetic expression and poetic forms. Tuesday classes meet from 1–3.

This Sessional Lecturer appointment covers LEC0101 during the January 1–April 30, 2027 session. You will design and teach a university credit course, prepare content, and assess student work. The course has an estimated enrolment of 25 and no estimated TA hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver course content on poetic expression
• Develop, administer, and mark assignments, tests, and exams
• Calculate and submit student grades
• Hold regular office hours for students
• Supervise assigned teaching assistants, if applicable

Requirements:

• MFA in creative writing
• Significant publication record as a creative writer
• University-level creative writing teaching experience
• Demonstrated teaching ability in creative writing
• Strong record of creative writing publication
