Meat Department Operations Manager

Lead meat production, merchandising, and food safety operations with South Country Co-op in Taber, Alberta, while guiding departmental performance. Deliver exceptional guest service and support operational targets through hands-on retail leadership.

As Meat Manager, you will lead the department’s day-to-day operations and report to the Food Store Manager. Your focus includes inventory, financial targets, team development, food safety, merchandising, and continuous improvement. You will also act as a Co-op brand ambassador.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead daily meat production, merchandising, inventory, and food safety operations
• Achieve budgeted sales, margin, expense, and inventory goals
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop department team members
• Maintain food safety, workplace health, and company policy compliance
• Deliver guest service and high department presentation standards

Requirements:

• Retail Meat Cutting Certificate or three to six years’ relevant experience
• Minimum three years’ supervisory or leadership experience
• At least one year of hands-on meat cutting experience
• Knowledge of retail meat operations and food safety requirements
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work variable schedules
