Job description
Apply precision fabrication skills as a Fabricator interpreting blueprints and meeting exact specifications under direct supervision. Operate mechanical tools safely while producing accurate components.
This Fabricator makes, repairs, adapts, and rectifies tools, dies, and mechanical equipment. The work includes fitting and assembling parts, modifying dies for engineering changes, and conducting operative tests. You will study engineering drawings, determine material requirements, and follow task sequences. Motion Industries offers this position with hourly compensation of $21.00 to $26.97.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints and engineering drawings for fabrication tasks
- Lay out, align, secure, and assemble parts
- Operate brakes, rolls, shears, grinders, and drill presses
- Measure work pieces against specifications and templates
- Repair and modify dies, tools, and equipment
Requirements:
- Typically requires a high school diploma or GED
- Read and understand work orders
- Apply mathematics to fabrication work
- Monitor gauges, dials, and machine indicators
- Handle materials weighing up to 100 pounds
