Senior CICS Systems Programmer

Senior CICS systems programmers support IBM CICS on z/OS, combining infrastructure expertise with planning, design, testing, and implementation responsibilities.

This senior-level position sits within Mainframe Database Technical Services. The group supports, designs, builds, tests, and deploys mainframe database and transaction manager systems. Consultation involves CICS, IMS, Db2, WAS z/OS, and z/OS Connect infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain CICS infrastructure on the z/OS platform
• Support CICS-related products and systems
• Plan, analyze, design, build, test, and implement CICS projects
• Mentor less experienced CICS systems programmers
• Contribute to CICS usage, futures, and direction

Requirements:

• College, university, or equivalent work experience
• Five to ten years of CICS and/or application experience
• Understanding of CICS, CICSPlex, and CTG internals and externals
• Understanding of z/OS components and architecture
• Knowledge of diagnostics tools, SMP/e, Omegamon, and System Automation
