Power Plant Instrumentation Technician II

Nova Scotia Power seeks a Power Plant Technician II with instrumentation skills for on-site work at Point Aconi Generating Station. Troubleshooting and calibration are central.

Reporting to the Controls Supervisor, this regular full-time position supports Power Production at Point Aconi. You will maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and install instrumentation and monitoring equipment throughout the generating station. The work also includes electrical equipment troubleshooting, software use, programming, environmental testing, and specialized stack repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain instrumentation and monitoring equipment throughout the generating station
• Troubleshoot, calibrate, and install instrumentation equipment
• Perform stack climbing and equipment repair work
• Participate in specialized environmental testing routines
• Travel throughout Nova Scotia when temporarily assigned

Requirements:

• Recognized PPTII status or two qualifying instrumentation and electrical credentials
• Minimum two years maintaining instrumentation and electrical equipment
• Proficiency troubleshooting electrical and electronic equipment
• Willingness to complete regulatory and additional training
• Ability to work from heights and lift required weights
