Underground Mining Engineering Technician
Support Heidelberg Materials’ new underground limestone mine with mine development, production tracking, and technical field expertise near Cadomin and Hinton.
The Underground Mine Technician contributes throughout construction, start-up, and ongoing operations. This technical position supports mine planning, engineering projects, operational readiness, geological and geotechnical data collection, quality control sampling, and performance reporting. Collaboration with mine operations, maintenance personnel, engineers, and supervisors is central to maintaining accurate information and effective practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support mine development, commissioning, planning, and capital projects
- Track development and production performance through operational reports
- Conduct limestone sampling for quality control and grade management
- Assist with mapping, technical studies, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate technical records, documentation, and performance metrics
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in mining engineering technology or related discipline
- Minimum two years’ experience in mining, construction, surveying, or related fields
- Experience collecting technical data in mining or industrial environments
- Microsoft Office and technical software application experience
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
