Pharmacy Assistant Prescription Processing

Support prescription processing and customer service as a Pharmacy Assistant at a locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart store. Work weekends only.

This Pharmacy Assistant supports technical dispensing functions, pharmacy services, and daily pharmacy operations. The work includes prescription data entry, refill processing, medication selection, billing, and customer assistance. Clinical inquiries and counseling requests are referred to the pharmacist. Service must remain timely, pleasant, accurate, and confidential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather prescription information according to pharmacy standards
• Enter new prescriptions and process refill requests
• Select, count, measure, package, and label medications
• Adjudicate third party billing and manage accounts
• Maintain dispensary cash register and completed documentation

Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• Pharmacy Assistant credited course diploma preferred
• Previous pharmacy experience preferred
• Effective organizational and multitasking skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
