HSS/Carbide Operator

The HSS Operator-Carbide will be setting up profiling grinders to evaluate, modify, sharpen, and inspect cutting tools according to established compliance standards.

For this position, the candidate must ideally possess the following skills:

• Know how to operate profiling grinders and other types: facing, cutter & grinder, Wagner, and Göckel.
• Read and interpret reading plans and technical drawings.
• Prepare setups based on the type of tooling.
• Modify, sharpen, and reprofile carbide, high-speed steel, and tantung tools.
• Evaluate and identify appropriate repairs.
• Inspect and ensure standard compliance.
• Perform preventive maintenance on grinders.

Prerequisites:

• Good knowledge of blueprint reading, technical drawings, and manual dexterity.
• Good command of measuring instruments.
• Conscientious, resourceful, and attention to detail and precision.
• Experiencein machining or similar, an asset.
