Senior Accountant - Implementation Project - REMOTE

Senior Accountant opportunity with a well-established nonprofit healthcare organization in NYC. They’ve been serving the New York community for more than 30 years and have built a strong reputation providing healthcare and supportive services to underserved communities.
The role reports directly to the Controller (whos awesome, down to earth, great guy) and offers broad ownership across the accounting function.

Help manage grant accounting
Support month-end close, journal entries, account analysis, and financial reporting
Own balance sheet and bank reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules
Manage government and private grants/contracts, including program budgets, reporting, compliance, and funding requirements
Oversee key aspects of AP, purchasing, cash management, and banking
Partner directly with the Controller on accounting projects, compliance, and process improvements
At least 3 years of hands-on grant and/or contract management experience
Strong understanding of GL accounting, reconciliations, AP, and month-end close
You’ll work directly with the Controller, gain broad exposure across the finance function, and have the stability of an established organization with a strong community-focused mission.
