About the Role:
DELI U LLC in Guilford, CT is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Deli Clerk - Opener to kick off the day and keep things running smoothly! This is a great opportunity to join a team that takes pride in fresh food, friendly service, and a fast-paced environment. Hours are 5am-8am


Responsibilities:

• Open the deli department and prepare the counter for daily service
• Slice, weigh, and package deli meats, cheeses, and prepared foods to order
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked deli case throughout the shift
• Provide friendly, efficient customer service and assist guests with product selections
• Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures at all times
• Monitor product freshness and rotate stock according to FIFO guidelines
• Set up and break down equipment, displays, and prep stations as needed

Requirements:

• Ability to work early morning opening shifts consistently and reliably
• Previous deli, food service, or grocery experience preferred
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe a plus)
• Comfortable operating deli slicers and other food prep equipment
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
