Data Architect

Location: Canada (Remote)

Required Skills & Qualifications (Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered)

• 15 years of experience in IT/Data, including at least 5 years focused on enterprise data architecture, cloud analytics, and distributed data systems.
• Deep knowledge of Azure data services, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLS Gen2), cloud networking, and security/IAM models.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog.
• Proven expertise in Snowflake data warehousing, multi-cluster warehouses, data sharing, Snowpipe, and performance tuning.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, Snowflake, and dbt for data transformation and analytics engineering.
• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines using Git, Azure DevOps, and/or GitHub Actions.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale cloud data platforms and distributed data architectures.
• Experience implementing data governance, access controls, metadata management, and secure data-sharing frameworks.
• Experience optimizing large-scale data pipelines for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Experience in Aerospace & Defense Industry

Day-to-Day Responsibilities (key tasks and expectations for the role)

• Design and implement enterprise data architectures using Azure, Azure Databricks, and Snowflake.
• Develop scalable data processing and analytics solutions using Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Python, and SQL.
• Architect and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and storage pipelines using ADLS Gen2, Snowflake, and dbt.
• Implement data governance, security, access controls, and metadata management using Azure IAM and Unity Catalog.
• Optimize Snowflake warehouses, query performance, data sharing, and Snowpipe ingestion processes.
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
