Job description

Salary: $55,800 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in software development, automation, systems integration, or a related technical field.
  • Strong working knowledge of Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript, plus working knowledge of SQL and databases.
  • Practical experience building AI applications, agents, or LLM-based workflows, with an understanding of tool/function calling, structured outputs, prompt design, agent workflows, and AI failure handling.
  • Experience creating business automations with code or platforms such as Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, n8n, or similar tools.
  • Experience integrating platforms using REST APIs, webhooks, and JSON; understanding of OAuth, API keys, service principals, and application permissions.
  • Understanding of RAG, embeddings, vector and hybrid search, and document retrieval.
  • Experience testing, troubleshooting, and monitoring production applications or automated workflows; experience with Git or other source control.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Entra ID.
  • Experience deploying applications or services on Azure, AWS, or another cloud platform.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy, access control, and security in AI applications.
  • Ability to manage priorities independently and take development projects from concept through deployment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work with technical and non-technical colleagues and clients.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Hands-on development capability is essential; end-user experience with ChatGPT, Claude, or Microsoft Copilot alone does not satisfy the technical requirements.
  • Preferred: Experience at an MSP, MSSP, technology consulting company, or software/integration firm; or with ConnectWise PSA, ConnectWise Automate, IT Glue, Microsoft Partner Center, or CSP billing and licensing automation.
  • Preferred: Experience developing MCP servers or integrations; using frameworks such as Claude Agent SDK, LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, or Microsoft Agent Framework; or working with Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, or n8n.
  • Preferred: Strong Microsoft Graph API experience and familiarity with Azure Functions, Key Vault, Azure AI Search, Supabase, or PostgreSQL, including database security and row-level security.
  • Preferred: Experience designing or supporting AI solutions across multiple customer environments and knowledge of AI security, governance, privacy, and responsible AI practices.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with PIPEDA, NIST AI RMF, or ISO/IEC 42001; Microsoft certifications such as AI-102, AZ-104, MS-102, or SC-300; and post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills; curiosity and motivation to keep learning in a changing technology environment.
  • Able to turn business needs into practical solutions, work independently and collaboratively, engage directly with clients, and focus on security, reliability, privacy, and measurable outcomes.
  • Accountable for completing projects and supporting solutions brought into production.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI agents and AI-driven business applications for our internal teams and clients.
  • Build multi-step automation workflows using triggers, APIs, webhooks, scheduled processes, and business logic.
  • Develop AI agents that securely work with business systems, databases, Microsoft 365, and third-party applications.
  • Integrate solutions with platforms including Microsoft 365, Microsoft Graph, Azure, Entra ID, SharePoint, ConnectWise PSA, Microsoft Partner Center, Supabase/PostgreSQL, and other business applications.
  • Develop and maintain APIs, connectors, and MCP-based integrations, as well as RAG solutions using company and client documentation and structured data.
  • Create workflows with human approval and validation where AI should not act independently.
  • Assess business processes and determine whether AI, automation, or conventional software development is the best fit.
  • Write clean, maintainable code using technologies such as Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, SQL, and PowerShell.
  • Establish testing and evaluation processes for AI agents and applications; implement production logging, monitoring, alerting, and audit trails.
  • Troubleshoot AI workflows, integrations, and production issues, and apply security controls such as least-privilege access, service accounts, API authentication, and secrets management.
  • Maintain documentation, configuration details, runbooks, and support procedures for deployed solutions.
  • Work with our staff and client stakeholders to understand business processes and translate them into technical solutions; explain technical concepts and AI capabilities clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Measure the impact of AI initiatives, including time saved, errors reduced, turnaround improvements, and overall business value.
  • In the first 90 days, learn our business processes and technology environment; identify valuable automation opportunities with service, finance, sales, and operations teams; and review AI initiatives while helping establish development, security, and deployment standards.
  • Build and deploy an initial production AI agent or automation, establish repeatable testing, evaluation, and monitoring practices, and bring multiple automations or agents into production with measurable benefits.
  • Begin developing AI solutions in client Microsoft 365, Azure, or other business environments and help shape our longer-term AI capabilities and client-services roadmap.
