Job Description

As a Software Developer, you will lead the design and delivery of software services and website stacks that involve engaging creatives, cross-screen placements, targeting, optimization, relevancy, and advertiser experiences. You will build brand new distributed software applications using cloud services and proprietary technologies to deliver unique customer and advertiser experiences. Additionally, you will drive AI-powered innovations through our intelligent recommendation engine, which surfaces high-converting advertising opportunities for book publishers and orchestrates ad request routing, signal enrichment, and real-time decisioning across multiple demand sources and reader surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Interface with teams including discovery, retail category, traffic generation, vendor management, and analytics.
• Experiment, innovate, and deliver in a fast, agile, and reliable manner with high quality and low technical debt.
• Champion the product with a strong sense of ownership, showing passion for building and improving systems at scale.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Java and SQL.
• Experience with AI tools.
• Exposure to AWS, as a significant amount of work will be done here.
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on development experience.
• Capability to understand complex architecture.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• A degree in computer science is preferred but not mandatory; hands-on programming experience is prioritized.
• Experience in the Ads industry or ecosystem, specifically DSP Ads.
• Previous experience as an employee or contractor.

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm, with a minimum of 4 days in the office, ideally 5 days. You will work in a dynamic environment alongside the Data Science team and engineers, collaborating on designs and upgrading current code to ensure ads are more relevant.

This is a Contract position based out of Toronto, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $33.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
