Job description

A well-established electrical contracting company with a strong presence across British Columbia, specializing in complex electrical projects across the commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential sectors.

Their diverse portfolio includes high-rise developments, healthcare facilities, data centres, major infrastructure, and large-scale electrical installations. With a reputation for technical expertise, quality workmanship, and a strong commitment to safety, the company offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced industry professionals on challenging projects throughout the Lower Mainland and beyond.

About The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented QA/QC Manager to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of quality assurance and quality control processes across our major electrical construction projects.

This role will be responsible for establishing and managing project quality plans, inspections, turnover documentation, audit requirements, and quality reporting processes. As project demands evolve, the position will expand to support other major projects and help advance consistent quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to help build and shape the company’s future quality management program while supporting some of British Columbia’s most complex and impactful construction projects

About The Position

  • Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) plans, procedures, and standards in accordance with contract requirements and industry regulations.
  • Oversee quality control activities across all project phases, ensuring work meets approved drawings, specifications, codes, and client expectations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, quality audits, and inspections of materials and installations to identify deficiencies and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality inspections, testing activities, and documentation requirements with project teams, subcontractors, and third-party agencies.
  • Identify, document, and manage non-conformances, deficiencies, and corrective actions, ensuring root causes are addressed and issues are resolved promptly.
  • Review and maintain quality documentation, including inspection reports, test records, material certifications, turnover packages, and project closeout documentation.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Site Superintendents, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to establish quality expectations and resolve technical issues.
  • Lead quality meetings, monitor quality performance, and provide guidance and training to project teams on QA/QC procedures and best practices.
  • Manage subcontractor and supplier quality performance, ensuring materials, equipment, and completed work meet contractual and project specifications.
  • Support project handover and closeout by ensuring all quality requirements are satisfied, outstanding deficiencies are resolved, and final documentation is completed.

The Requirements

  • Proven experience in QA/QC, quality management, commissioning, project turnover, or electrical construction project management.
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, quality assurance processes, and quality control programs.
  • Experience developing and implementing quality management procedures, inspection plans, and turnover documentation processes.
  • Knowledge of contract requirements, specifications, construction drawings, codes, and industry standards.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with construction documentation and project management software.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Compensation

  • Salary starting at $120,000 DOE
  • Comprehensive extended health benefits.
  • Health & Wellness Program.
  • RRSP with company matching.
