Senior Infrastructure Administrator (PowerShell) to provide operational support, automation

Our Valued Public Sector Client is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Administrator (PowerShell) to provide operational support, automation expertise, and lifecycle management for enterprise Windows and Linux server environments as well as VMware vSphere and ESXi infrastructure.

Project Description:

This project supports the ongoing administration, optimization, and modernization of enterprise infrastructure services, with a strong focus on automation, operational efficiency, and service delivery improvement. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining Windows and Linux server environments, supporting VMware virtualization platforms, and developing automation solutions through PowerShell scripting.

• Advanced PowerShell Scripting & Task Automation (5+ years)
• Windows Server & Linux Administration (10+ years)
• VMware vSphere & ESXi Lifecycle Management (3+ years)
• Infrastructure Monitoring, Troubleshooting, and Performance Optimization (5+ years)
• Demonstrated ability and eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving technical environments

Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain, and support enterprise Windows Server and Linux operating system environments.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate operational tasks, system administration activities, reporting, and service delivery processes.
• Manage VMware vSphere and ESXi environments, including deployment, upgrades, patching, lifecycle management, and performance optimization.
• Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability while proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, virtualization, operating system, and automation-related issues to ensure service continuity.
• Support infrastructure modernization initiatives and assist with the implementation of new technologies and platforms.
• Collaborate with technical teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and increased automation.
• Assist with the rollout, adoption, and continuous improvement of ServiceNow processes and capabilities.
• Contribute to the development of operational procedures, technical documentation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Participate in system upgrades, maintenance activities, and infrastructure refresh projects.
• Provide technical support and guidance to internal stakeholders and operational teams.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and best practices that can enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
• Work closely with project and operational teams to ensure infrastructure solutions align with organizational standards, security requirements, and business objectives.
• Demonstrate a continuous learning mindset by developing skills in new technologies, platforms, and service management practices as organizational needs evolve.
