Job description

Territory Account Manager – Timmins & Surrounding Area

Salary: $75,000 – $115,000 per year
Location: Timmins, Ontario (field-based)
Type: Full-time, permanent

WHO WE ARE

Since 1994, New North Fuels has been keeping Northeastern Ontario warm and moving. As one of the largest heating oil and fuel distributors in the region, we deliver heating oil, fuels and lubricants to homes, businesses and industries from our offices in Sudbury, Timmins, Sault Ste. Marie and Massey, and our bulk plant in Little Current. Our promise is simple: always there when you need us.

New North Fuels is part of PetroNor, a leading energy provider in Northern Quebec. PetroNor serves the road and air transportation, construction, forestry and mining sectors across Eeyou Istchee Baie-James and Abitibi-Témiscamingue, and counts Suncor Energy, owner of the Petro-Canada brand, among its shareholders. Together, we share one ambition: to be the leading essential energy provider for Northern Quebec and Ontario, driven by innovation, safety and social responsibility.

THE OPPORTUNITY: BE OUR FIRST SALES LEAD IN TIMMINS

We’ve been serving Timmins for years, but we’ve never had a dedicated sales representative on the ground. Until now.

Timmins is one of the hardest-working corners of the country. The mines, fleets, contractors and mills that keep it running all need fuel they can count on. We already have the operations, the supply and the reputation in place. What we’re missing is the key player who will take this market to the next level.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will be the first person in this role, the face of New North Fuels for commercial and industrial customers in Timmins and the surrounding communities. You’ll strengthen the relationships we already have, open doors we’ve never knocked on, and help us scale the business in a market where the potential is huge.

This is not a script-and-quota job. You’ll have a blank page, a strong company behind you and the freedom to build the territory your way. What it becomes depends heavily on you, and your results will be seen and rewarded.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Launch and scale the territory

  • Build our commercial and industrial presence in Timmins and the surrounding area, starting with a dedicated sales approach for the first time
  • Develop and grow our existing customer relationships
  • Prospect, qualify and win new B2B clients in mining, forestry, construction, transportation and industry
  • Assess customer fuel needs and recommend the right supply solutions
  • Negotiate pricing, terms and supply agreements
  • Represent New North Fuels in the field and in the community, at job sites, industry events and local business networks

Build and manage your accounts

  • Turn new clients into long-term partners through reliable follow-through and service
  • Grow each account over time by understanding its operations and anticipating its needs
  • Be the person your customers call first

Own the numbers

  • Monitor sales volumes, margins and growth targets
  • Gather market intelligence on competitors, pricing and local opportunities
  • Maintain accurate customer data and activity records in the CRM
  • Help shape our growth strategy for the Timmins market

Work as one team

  • Collaborate with logistics, customer service and billing to deliver on every promise
  • Bring the voice of the Timmins customer back to the business
  • Share what you learn in the field so the whole team gets sharper

WHAT YOU BRING

Requirements

  • Experience in B2B, commercial or industrial sales or account management, ideally including building or growing a territory
  • A proven ability to win new business, not just maintain it
  • Strong negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills
  • Comfort working independently, organizing your own time and owning your results
  • Solid business sense and confidence with volumes, margins and pricing
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the region

Assets

  • Experience in fuel, energy, transportation, mining, forestry or industrial distribution
  • An existing network in Timmins and the surrounding communities
  • Bilingualism (English and French)

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Someone with an entrepreneurial spirit who sees an untapped market as an opportunity. You’d rather be in a truck than behind a desk. You listen more than you pitch, you follow through on what you promise, and you understand that in the North a handshake still means something. You’re self-driven, competitive in the best sense, and excited by the idea of building a territory and seeing your work turn into something lasting.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Base salary of $75,000 to $115,000, based on experience
  • $850 per month car allowance
  • Fuel card covering your fuel expenses
  • 3 weeks of paid vacation
  • Company cell phone
  • Company clothing provided
  • Comprehensive group benefits
  • Retirement savings plan
  • Laptop and sales tools provided
  • A high level of autonomy with the stability of an established company

WHY JOIN US

Be the first. You’ll be the first dedicated sales rep in Timmins. There’s no one to replace and no ceiling set by someone before you. The groundwork is in place, and the growth is yours to drive.

Sell something that matters. Fuel is essential. Demand is steady, the customers are real, and the work never stops being relevant.

Grow with the business. As Timmins grows, so does your role. Early key players are the ones who grow into leadership.

Run your own show. You’ll be trusted to make decisions and judged on results, not hours at a desk.

Backed by a northern leader. You’ll have a team rooted in Northern Ontario and an energy network spanning two provinces behind you.

OUR COMMITMENT TO INCLUSION

New North Fuels is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and welcome applications from all qualified candidates, including women, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities and members of visible minorities. Accommodations are available upon request at every stage of the recruitment process, in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
