Job Title: IT Infrastructure Specialist
Job Type: 3-month Contract
Location: Calgary, AB (Hybrid – M/F remote, T/W/Th in-office downtown Calgary)
Type: 3-Month Contract (possibility of extension)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm MST.
Rate: $30/hr T4 OR $38/hr Inc.

About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled IT Infrastructure Specialist/Generalist to join their IT team on a short-term basis, with potential for extension. This role requires a strong technical generalist who can provide hands-on expertise across servers, storage, virtualization, identity, cloud, and endpoint management. The ideal candidate will be an operations-focused professional who can think on their feet and step in quickly to support ongoing infrastructure projects, including a Windows 11 migration.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day administration and support for servers, storage systems, and virtualization platforms (vSphere/VMware).
• Manage and maintain Microsoft 365, Exchange, and SharePoint environments.
• Oversee endpoint management with a strong focus on Microsoft Intune, supporting the ongoing Windows 11 migration.
• Support and administer Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and broader Azure infrastructure services.
• Manage and troubleshoot Active Directory (AD) and Azure Active Directory (AAD) for identity and access management.
• Work within an environment that includes Pure Storage systems.
• Collaborate with IT leadership to ensure operational continuity during multiple team leaves of absence.
• Troubleshoot issues, provide proactive solutions, and ensure systems remain secure, reliable, and optimized.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior System Administrator or IT Infrastructure Specialist.
• Strong technical knowledge across:
  • Server & storage administration (including Pure Storage)
  • VMware vSphere/virtualization
  • Microsoft 365 suite, Exchange, and SharePoint
  • Endpoint management with Intune (required)
  • Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Azure infrastructure
  • Identity management: AD/AAD
• Experience supporting and executing Windows 11 migration projects is an asset.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
