Nanny Wanted - Fernie Family Looking For Short Term Help In Oct/Nov 2026 With Possibility Of

We are a family based in Fernie, British Columbia, searching for a dedicated and caring nanny to join our home on a short-term basis. My kids are in Grade 1 and preschool and I am looking for some help to fill a gap between more permanent/live-in care from late October through mid to late November 2026. My kids both have care during school hours but I work on call and sometimes am away in Cranbrook overnight for work so I'm looking for someone who can help with 2-3 overnight shifts during this period as well as 5-6 on call shifts where you would need to be available to come stay with the kids if I have to leave with short notice. Responsibilities include not only caring for the children but also assisting with housekeeping tasks and mostly just cleaning up after preparing any food for yourself or kids and trying to tidy up after play. I do not expect you to clean my house. I do have a small dog so if you are here for a longer period of time, it's helpful if you can take him out for a short walk and keep his food/water bowls full. Pay can be completely negotiable, with a different rate for being on call than when you are actually onsite working.
