Embedded Firmware Engineer

Salary: $95,000 - 105,000 per year

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of embedded firmware development experience
• Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline
• Strong embedded C programming skills, including bare-metal development
• Hands-on experience developing firmware for ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers
• Experience with Embedded Linux and Zephyr RTOS
• Knowledge of communication interfaces and protocols, including CAN, I2C, I2S, SPI, TCP, and UDP
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or JavaScript
• Proficiency with debugging tools, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters
• Experience with version control, modular software design, unit testing, and firmware debugging
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines
• Additional assets include experience with DSP, digital audio processing, or audio algorithms; familiarity with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), home automation, or cloud connectivity; experience implementing secure firmware updates and cloud communication; and embedded C++ development experience

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust embedded firmware for next-generation audio products
• Contribute across the product lifecycle, from bootloaders and device drivers through application firmware, validation, and production support
• Partner with hardware, software, and product design teams to define system architecture, technical requirements, and development strategies
• Investigate and resolve complex hardware and firmware issues using a hands-on, methodical approach
• Develop firmware and tools for production testing, product validation, and long-term product quality
• Improve code quality through unit testing, documentation, code reviews, modular design, and engineering best practices
• Share technical expertise, influence design decisions, and support continuous improvement across the development organization
