As a Data Analytics & BI Developer Employee within Siemens Energy's Montreal Digitalization team, you will turn complex manufacturing, engineering, and business data into scalable analytics solutions. Your day may include designing Snowflake data models, building Matillion pipelines, troubleshooting data quality issues, integrating SAP data, and developing Power BI or Tableau dashboards that help stakeholders make informed decisions. You will collaborate with business and technical colleagues, contributing to practical digital solutions that improve reporting, operational visibility, and process optimization across the organization.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Design dimensional and analytical data models using star and snowflake schemas, and build scalable, reliable data pipelines for analytics and business intelligence initiatives.
- Develop and optimize advanced SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and Snowflake data models, using Matillion to deliver robust reporting and analytics solutions.
- Use AWS cloud services for data storage and computation, including SQS queues, SNS notifications, and Lambda functions.
- Create and maintain interactive Power BI and Tableau dashboards that translate operational data into clear, actionable insights.
- Model complex SAP ECC or S/4HANA transactional data in Snowflake, and develop or maintain applications that support data integration and reporting needs.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and deliver solutions in an Agile Scrum environment using Jira and Confluence.
What You Bring
- At least three years of full-time experience in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, or Analytics Engineering, supported by expert-level SQL development skills.
- Strong experience with Snowflake data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, Matillion, AWS cloud services, and scalable data pipeline development.
- Hands-on experience analyzing and modeling SAP ECC or S/4HANA data and transforming transactional information into business-friendly analytical models.
- Experience with Power BI and/or Tableau; additional knowledge of DAX, , Python, Git, machine learning, or large language models is considered an asset.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and business engagement skills, with experience working in Agile Scrum teams; manufacturing or energy industry experience is preferred.
