Technical Business Systems Analyst – ServiceNow CMDB Data

Role Overview

We are seeking a technically oriented Business Systems Analyst with deep hands-on experience working with ServiceNow CMDB and its underlying data structures.

This resource will focus on understanding how CMDB data is structured, integrated, populated, queried and consumed across the enterprise. The ideal candidate combines traditional BSA capabilities with strong technical knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB, SAM/HAM, integrations and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze the existing ServiceNow CMDB environment and underlying data structures.
• Assess how configuration and asset data flows into and through ServiceNow.
• Analyze CMDB tables, relationships and data models.
• Work directly within ServiceNow to retrieve and analyze CMDB information.
• Support analysis of integrations between ServiceNow and upstream/downstream systems.
• Assess APIs, interfaces and data feeds supporting the CMDB.
• Analyze existing CMDB data quality and identify technical improvement opportunities.
• Work with ServiceNow SAM/SAM Pro and HAM data and associated table structures.
• Support analysis of discovery/scanning processes used to populate configuration and asset information.
• Use ServiceNow Performance Analytics and other reporting/query capabilities where appropriate.
• Translate technical findings into recommendations for the future-state CMDB roadmap.
• Support implementation of approved CMDB enhancements during the execution phase.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB.
• Deep understanding of CMDB data structures, tables and relationships.
• Experience working directly with ServiceNow CMDB data.
• Experience with SAM/SAM Pro and HAM.
• Understanding of ServiceNow integrations and APIs.
• Experience analyzing data flows between ServiceNow and enterprise systems.
• SQL/data querying and analysis experience.
• Previous CMDB implementation, integration, remediation or optimization project experience.
• Ability to translate technical findings into business and functional requirements.
