Job Title: Golang Cloud Platform Developer
Job Description
This role focuses on designing, developing, and evolving cloudnative software platforms that power network management, automation, observability, and operational support systems for a carriergrade low Earth orbit satellite network. You will build scalable distributed systems using Go, Kubernetes, and modern cloudnative technologies, while leveraging AIassisted development tools to accelerate innovation, improve productivity, and enhance code quality. This is an opportunity to contribute to a major space program and work on longterm, missioncritical projects in a fastgrowing environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain highperformance backend services and distributed systems using Golang.
- Build and evolve cloudnative network management (NMS) and operational support (OSS) platforms that support network automation, telemetry, observability, service assurance, and operational workflows.
- Design and implement microservices architectures deployed and managed through Kubernetes and containerbased platforms.
- Develop scalable APIs, eventdriven services, and automation frameworks that integrate with network infrastructure, orchestration platforms, and operational systems.
- Use modern network management technologies, including NETCONF, RESTCONF, gNMI, gRPC, and telemetry frameworks, to enable network automation and observability.
- Leverage AIassisted development tools such as Codex, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and similar platforms to improve engineering efficiency, code quality, testing, and documentation.
- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and deployment automation for cloudnative applications.
- Contribute to the software architecture and technical strategy for highly available, cloudnative distributed systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across application, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and networking layers.
- Collaborate closely with platform, network, and operations teams to improve system reliability, scalability, and automation capabilities.
- Apply strong understanding of concurrency, asynchronous processing, distributed systems patterns, and performance optimization in daytoday development.
- Design and implement REST APIs, gRPC services, and eventdriven architectures that support highthroughput, lowlatency operations.
- Build and maintain DevOps workflows that support continuous integration, continuous delivery, and reliable production deployments.
- Support observability and monitoring by integrating logging, metrics, and tracing solutions into platform services.
- Contribute to platform engineering and internal developer platform capabilities to streamline development and operations for engineering teams.
Essential Skills
- 8+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 5+ years building production applications in Golang.
- Strong expertise in building and maintaining distributed systems, microservices, and APIdriven platforms using Go.
- Deep handson experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and cloudnative application development and deployment.
- Proficiency in designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
- Experience with network management and automation technologies such as NETCONF, RESTCONF, gNMI, and gRPC.
- Practical experience using AIassisted development tools such as Codex, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar platforms.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including concepts such as VLANs and Ethernet.
- Experience working with network management systems (NMS), operational support systems (OSS), or related platforms in complex environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across software, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and networking domains.
- Ability to design and implement scalable, highperformance backend services with a focus on reliability and observability.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience deploying and operating applications in public or private cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or equivalent cloudnative platforms.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, concurrency, asynchronous processing, distributed systems patterns, and performance optimization.
- Experience designing REST APIs, gRPC services, and eventdriven architectures for largescale systems.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and DevOps workflows using tools such as pytest or similar frameworks.
- Working knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, routing, telemetry, and network observability.
- Practical experience with AIassisted software development tools, including Codex, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar technologies, to enhance productivity and code quality.
- Experience building platform engineering or internal developer platform capabilities to support development teams.
- Experience working with Kubernetes operators, service meshes, observability platforms, or other cloudnative infrastructure tooling.
- Familiarity with network automation technologies such as NETCONF, RESTCONF, gNMI, OpenConfig, and gRPC.
- Experience with telecommunications, satellite communications, network management systems (NMS), element management systems (EMS), or OSS platforms.
- Experience with observability technologies such as Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Elasticsearch, or similar monitoring and observability tools.
- Proven ability to perform root cause analysis across software, cloud infrastructure, and networking layers in highly scalable, missioncritical production environments.
- Experience with commercial network management products and platforms such as NETCRACKER or similar tools.
- Familiarity with concepts related to MPLANE or similar management plane technologies in telecommunications environments.
