The ideal candidate will lead the financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities for our firm and oversee the day-to-day accounting and payroll operations of our engineering firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AP / AR, ADP payroll coordination, expense tracking, and month-end close.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy in all financial records.
- Manage and reconcile project-based financials, including job costing, WIP schedules, and revenue recognition.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure proper project setup, billing, and financial tracking.
- Produce timely financial reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis with guidance from the Director of Finance.
- Monitor cash flow, manage bank reconciliations, and track key financial metrics.
- Support the implementation internal controls and process improvements.
- Liaise with external accountants, tax preparers, and vendors as needed.
- Help manage project-based accounting and job costing related to engineering services.
- Maintain and improve accounting systems.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- General supervision of all accounting staff.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related fieldCPA designation (complete or in final stages)5-7 years’ experience within a small to medium-sized organizationSolid experience and knowledge in dealing with accounting systems, budgets, internal controls, business planning, and asset managementWorking knowledge and experience with ADP Workforce Now payroll softwareProficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite, and general accounting softwareExcellent organizational skillsExpert knowledge in finance and accounting procedures and regulationsStrong analytical and leadership skillsAbility to work under pressure and on tight deadlinesOutstanding communication skills, both oral and written#J-18808-Ljbffr
