Assist with leasing and marketing residential units, including interviewing prospective tenants, conducting tenant screenings, and performing reference checks.

Build positive relationships with tenants and respond promptly to their concerns.

Attend to and perform minor repairs, such as fixing leaky faucets, clearing drains, changing locks, making hardware adjustments, performing minor electrical repairs, etc.

Troubleshoot and resolve unexpected maintenance issues and emergencies.

Respond to emergency calls quickly and efficiently, both during regular hours and after-hours.

Conduct daily rounds of the property to ensure security standards are maintained for residents.

Work effectively with other building team members.

Help maintain the building to a high standard of cleanliness.

Complete turnover painting and repairs of rental suites to prepare them for rental.
-
Complete maintenance requests from existing tenants in a timely manner.
-
Provide the Property Manager with regular updates and advise on preventative maintenance measures.

The ideal candidate will have the following background and skills:

Ability to manage customer expectations, provide outstanding customer service, and build effective, trustworthy relationships with a wide variety of people.

Clear and concise written and verbal reporting skills.

Excellent communication skills, including promotion and negotiation skills.

Effective time management skills and a positive “making it happen” and “getting it done” attitude.

Proven handyman skills.

Efficient painting and drywall repair skills.
-
Carpentry and/or renovation experience.
-
Knowledge of building systems and maintenance.
-
Basic knowledge of landscaping.

General understanding of the BC Residential Tenancy Act and Regulations.

Ability to understand situations from another person's perspective, communicate your own perspective effectively, and influence positive outcomes while maintaining a calm demeanor at all times.

Ability to provide a criminal record check and maintain an excellent credit rating is essential.

Reliable vehicle and valid driver's licence.

Maintenance: 5 years (preferred)
Salary/Rate Range: $55,000 – $65,000 per year CAD
