Senior Business Analyst

Contract opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst supporting business system implementation, requirements validation, data migration and testing for a public-sector organization in St. Johns, Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Hybrid working arrangement associated with an office in St. John’s.
- Expected contract term: October 26, 2026 to March 31, 2027.
- Full-time: 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.
What & Why:
Our client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to help ensure that system designs, configurations and implementation activities meet departmental business needs. You will lead requirements and business process validation, facilitate stakeholder sessions and translate findings into clear implementation documentation. Your work will also support data migration, testing, business process changes and training, helping users prepare for and adopt new or enhanced system functionality.

You will collaborate with departmental business representatives, system implementation teams, change management specialists and the project manager. The role connects business requirements with the practical work needed to configure, validate and implement a system successfully.
You:
You are a hands-on Business Analyst who can lead productive stakeholder discussions and turn complex information into clear requirements, process models and implementation decisions. You are comfortable working across configuration, data migration and testing activities. You can identify gaps, document rules and mappings, develop test cases and help business users work through User Acceptance Testing. You also understand the importance of clear user documentation, training and business process change.
Critical Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of seven years of relevant Business Analyst experience.
- Your application should demonstrate experience relevant to requirements validation, stakeholder facilitation, system implementation, data migration, testing/UAT and business analysis documentation.
Responsibilities:
Depending on project needs, your work may include:
- Validate solution designs, business processes and requirements with departmental stakeholders.
- Plan, facilitate and document workshops, meetings and interviews.
- Work with clients to configure system functionality and user security settings.
- Support data cleansing and conversion, identifying gaps between existing and new data structures.
- Document migration rules, data mappings and validation requirements.
- Develop test cases linked to business requirements.
- Lead internal and client testing, document defects and validate fixes.
- Guide business users through User Acceptance Testing.
- Support business process changes with business representatives and change management specialists.
- Support training and develop user guides.
- Produce workflows, use cases, requirements documents, fit-gap analyses and business process models.
- Support other implementation tasks and deliverables directed by the project manager.
Compensation:
Hourly contract compensation will be discussed based on experience, engagement structure and alignment with the client’s requirements. Expense reimbursement is not available for this assignment.
