NSB Omega is searching for a Project Manager - Structures for our MAJOR Utilities Client in St. John's, NL.
Assignment Description
Our Client and its subsidiaries are seeking a Project Manager - Structures for their Non-Regulated team. The position will focus primarily on projects relating to water control structures at ChurchillFallsbutmaybeassignedotherprojectworkbasedonbusinessprioritiesandasneed arises.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
·Leadprojectsfrominitiationtocompletion,ensuringprojectsaredeliveredsafely,on time, and within budget;
·Developandmanageprojectscopes,schedules,andbudgets,includingregular reporting to NL Hydro leadership;
·Coordinatewithengineeringteamstoensureengineeringdesigns,specifications,and deliverables meet corporate standards and applicable codes.
·Overseeandreviewtenderpackages,participateincontractevaluationandaward processes, ensuring quality and value for NL Hydro;
·Manageprojectteams,includinginternalengineers,contractors,andconsultants,to achieve project objectives;
·Conductregularsitevisitstomonitorconstructionactivities,verifyprojectprogress,and provide support to site teams;
·Identify,evaluate,andmitigateprojectrisks,andmaintaintheprojectriskregister throughout the project lifecycle;
·Facilitateeffectivecommunicationacrossstakeholders,ensuringthatapprovedproject changes are reflected in the active budget and schedule;
·EnsurecontractorcompliancewithNLHydro’sContractorSafetyManagementPlanand corporate and Contractor HSE policies;
·Leadprojectcloseoutactivities,ensuringsmoothtransitionofcompletedassetsto operations;
·Promotecontinualimprovementthroughlessonslearned,innovativeapproaches,and sharing best practices with other project teams;
·SubmittimesheetsanddocumentationinaccordancewithNLHydro’sproject management requirements;
·Otherdutiesas assigned.
EDUCATIONANDEXPERIENCE REQUIRED
·Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL)association.Equivalentprofessionalengineering(P.Eng)registrationcanbe considered;
·ProjectManagementProfessional(PMP)certificationfromtheProjectManagement Institute (PMI) or other similar Project Management certification is preferred;
·Minimumof10yearsofprogressiveprojectmanagement experience;
·Strongknowledgeoftheprocurementandcontractingprocess,contractormanagement and contract negotiation skills;
·Strongknowledgeofriskfacilitation,riskmanagement,andriskmitigationoncomplex projects;
·Strongknowledgeinprojectscopedefinition,changeevaluationandprojectchange management;
·Strongexperienceinprojectcontrols,planning,scheduling,andestimatingis considered an asset;
·Experiencewithmanagingprojectsforwatercontrolstructuresanddamsisconsidered an asset;
·Provenexperiencemanagingcomplexprojectsinremote locations;
·Strong background in coordinating and managing multidisciplinary engineering project teams(e.g.,electrical,civil,mechanical)andcollaboratingwithdesignandconstruction groups;
·Demonstratedabilitytomanageprojectsonoperationalindustrialsites,including contractor supervision and adherence to site-specific safety requirements;
·Abilitytoadapttodynamicworkenvironmentsandchangingproject demands.
