Position Overview
Justice Technology Services is seeking a Senior Software Developer to support the development, enhancement, integration, and maintenance of enterprise applications and data solutions.
The successful candidate will work closely with business teams to develop and validate enhancements based on business requirements, maintain and enhance existing applications, resolve defects, ensure consistent data access across Ontario Public Service locations, and support documentation, development, database design, testing, and integration activities.
The resource will also contribute to solution architecture, data pipelines, APIs, reporting services, dashboards, secure system integrations, and data consolidation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with business teams to develop and validate application enhancements based on business requirements.
- Maintain and enhance existing applications and resolve application defects in a timely manner.
- Ensure synchronized and consistent data access across all relevant OFPS locations.
- Perform application development, database design, testing, and technical documentation.
- Support conceptual, logical, and physical architecture artifacts.
- Ensure solutions align with GO ITS and enterprise architecture patterns.
- Expand the existing pilot dashboard to support province-wide medicolegal autopsy casework metrics, workload analytics, service performance indicators, and executive reporting.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines, APIs, reporting services, and dashboard functionality supporting executive decision-making.
- Design and build secure interfaces between F-Path, Vanguard (QuinC), and Ontario justice-sector databases.
- Establish data exchange mechanisms for:
- Criminal charge information
- Court attendance data
- Subpoenas
- Counsel assignments
- Case disposition information
- Consolidate legacy data sources into a unified platform.
- Improve data quality, reporting consistency, analytics capabilities, and interoperability across systems.
- Participate in knowledge transfer through 1:1 meetings, team meetings, and technical documentation.
- Maintain code and documentation for all assigned work and transfer knowledge to the Project Manager and team members through SharePoint and DevOps.
