Family Assistant / Household Manager (Part-Time) Location: Elboya, Calgary, Alberta Schedule: Tuesday to Thursday, approximately 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m (depending on when tasks are completed) Compensation: Starting at $30/hour, negotiable based on experience and qualifications Start Date: Flexible About Our Family We are a busy professional family living in Elboya with our two young children (currently ages 3 and 1) and our friendly mini goldendoodle. We are looking for a reliable, organized and proactive Family Assistant / Household Manager to help keep our household running smoothly during the work week. This is not primarily a nanny position. Both children attend daycare during the day, and the role is focused on supporting the overall needs of our household, including childcare during the morning and afternoon routines, household management, meal preparation, organization and errands. This role would be ideal for someone who enjoys helping busy professional families stay organized and running smoothly and who takes pride in creating calm, order and efficiency in a household. The Role: We are looking for someone who can become a trusted and valued part of our family's support system and help ensure that our home is organized, well-maintained and running efficiently. The successful candidate will be comfortable balancing independent work with following detailed instructions. We are looking for someone who can take initiative, anticipate needs, identify tasks that require attention, and work proactively, while also being attentive to specific directions and preferences. Morning Responsibilities: - Arrive at approximately 6:30 a.m. - Prepare breakfast for the children - Help the children get dressed and ready for the day - Prepare daycare items as needed - Drive the children to daycare Household Responsibilities During the Day: - Make beds and keep bedrooms organized - Complete laundry from start to finish, including washing, folding, ironing and putting clothing away - Maintain organization throughout the home - Tidy the kitchen and common living areas - Prepare dinners and assist with meal planning - Grocery shopping (typically once per week) - Collect packages and complete household errands - Assist with household organization projects and seasonal tasks - Help ensure the household operates smoothly and efficiently Occasionally assistance may be required picking children up from daycare and bringing them home, and/or caring for them until parents return home. Sick Day Childcare As with any family with young children, occasional childhood illnesses are inevitable. We are seeking someone who is comfortable caring for a child at home when they are unable to attend daycare. Our ideal candidate is patient, nurturing, practical and not uncomfortable around common childhood illnesses such as colds, coughs or stomach bugs. What We're Looking For There will typically be a written list of priorities and tasks to complete each week. We are looking for someone who is comfortable both following specific instructions and taking initiative to identify additional tasks that would help our household run smoothly.
