Senior Network Engineer, Application Migrations & Hybrid Cloud Connectivity (Azure/AWS, Firewalls, F5 & DNS/IPAM) -

Duration: 12 months

Location: Toronto, London or Winnipeg (Hybrid 2x/week)

Work Style: Please note that this is not a standard “9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. type” role and is not an on-call position. The role requires participation in evening and weekend shift rotations. Remote work arrangements may be accommodated during evening and weekend shifts. Total working hours are expected to remain at 37.5 hours per week.

Overview

Support application migrations and modernization across on-premises data centres and Azure/AWS environments. Own network dependency discovery, connectivity design, migration readiness and hands-on cutover support, ensuring applications meet availability, performance, security and resiliency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Map application dependencies and east-west/north-south traffic flows across data centres, cloud environments and third-party connections.
• Develop connectivity matrices, baseline network behaviour and migration runbooks to identify dependencies and risks before cutover.
• Define and validate network requirements for latency, performance, availability, scalability, disaster recovery and operational support.
• Design and implement changes to DNS/IPAM, routing, segmentation, firewall policies, WAF integration, load balancing and hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Provide hands-on support during application migrations, troubleshooting connectivity, DNS, TLS, authentication, authorization and application access issues.
• Assess network, security and identity readiness; resolve gaps and support go/no-go decisions and post-migration validation.
• Coordinate technical issue resolution across application, infrastructure, security, identity and cloud teams during migration windows.
• Develop repeatable migration patterns, technical diagrams and operational procedures; contribute to root cause analysis, automation and observability improvements.

Must-Have Requirements

• 7+ years of enterprise network engineering, infrastructure engineering or network architecture experience.
• Proven hands-on experience supporting complex application migrations, data centre transformations or cloud migrations.
• Experience with application dependency mapping, network flow discovery and traffic analysis.
• Strong technical knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, routing, network segmentation, firewalls, load balancing and application delivery.
• Experience designing and implementing resilient network and security architectures.
• Strong cloud networking knowledge in Azure and/or AWS, including connectivity between cloud and on-premises environments.
• Experience troubleshooting application connectivity, authentication, authorization and performance issues across hybrid environments.
• Experience translating application requirements into network designs, migration procedures and technical validation activities.
• Availability to participate in scheduled evening and weekend migration shifts within a 37.5-hour workweek.

• Zero Trust network architecture experience.
• Deeper expertise in identity platforms and authentication technologies.
• Network automation, Infrastructure as Code or DevOps experience.
• CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, Azure Networking, AWS Advanced Networking or equivalent certifications.
