Job description

Salary: $65,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with the ISO 27000 series, including ISO 27001 and ISO 27002.
  • Level 2/3 help desk experience and hands-on knowledge of SIEM platforms such as Adlumin, network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds/N-able, vulnerability research, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Expertise with AWS and Google Cloud Platform, including IaaS and PaaS architecture principles.
  • Knowledge of SSL/TLS encryption, PKI management, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, SOAP, load balancing, high availability, and disaster recovery.
  • Familiarity with network security equipment and technologies, including Cisco routers and switches, Cisco ASA firewalls, Juniper equipment, Cisco ISE, and IPsec VPNs.
  • Ability to conduct security analysis and computer forensics, handle incident response, and use network management tools for continuous monitoring.
  • Experience supporting computer hardware, operating systems, and peripherals, including Windows 7, 10, and 11.
  • A community college diploma in cybersecurity or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Relevant cybersecurity or IT certifications, such as Security+, Network+, Microsoft, or Fortinet, are an asset.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation for client site visits.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills, with a security-focused, detail-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively; organized, dependable, and meticulous.
  • Ability to lift and transport IT equipment and use ladders during installations or on-site work.
  • Ability to commute to or relocate to London, Ontario.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity strategies aligned with industry standards.
  • Monitor network traffic through SIEM tools to identify and assess threats.
  • Assist with security incident response, investigation, remediation, and forensic analysis using tools such as Fiddler or Nmap.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Manage firewall configurations, security rules, and VPNs.
  • Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support for desktops, servers, and client infrastructure in an MSP environment.
  • Deploy, manage, and monitor cybersecurity solutions, including RMM, EDR/AV, and related tools.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, operating systems, and peripherals, and provide remote, phone-based, and on-site support.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles; record security incidents, root causes, and remediation steps.
  • Explain security risks and technical issues to non-technical clients and recommend secure IT practices and solutions.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and provide occasional after-hours support.
  • Conduct on-site visits for escalations, security incidents, and project work as needed.

We are seeking a cybersecurity-focused IT Specialist to join our innovative technology team and help protect digital assets in a fast-paced environment centered on excellence and continuous improvement. The role offers exposure to current cybersecurity tools and methods, with opportunities to contribute to technical quality in a collaborative setting that supports learning and growth. Our schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with on-call and occasional after-hours coverage. The position is primarily in person in London, Ontario (N6N 1N7). Annual pay is $65,000–$70,000. Benefits include casual dress, dental, extended health, disability and life insurance, vision care, paid time off, mileage reimbursement, and on-site parking.
