Halifax Water is inviting applications for one (1) Regular, Full-time Water Treatment Plant Operator based out of the JD Kline Water Treatment Plant. The Water Treatment Plant Operator will work under the direction of the designated supervisor, who may or may not be on site, to operate water treatment plants, and perform maintenance of equipment associated with water supply plant facilities.The Operator will work 12-hour shifts, day and night shifts, or operate and maintain small systems plants at the location to which he or she is assigned.Interested, qualified candidates are asked to submit a cover letter and up-to-date resume quoting Competition #HW24-196E confirming their interest by 12 : 30 pm on November 8th, 2024. As part of the conditional offer process, candidates will be subject to a satisfactory background check and satisfactory pre-employment testing.ResponsibilitiesThe Operator will perform preventative maintenance on all facility mechanical equipment, ensure all responsibilities are met as it pertains to the ISO 14001 compliant Environmental Management System, control all operational processes during the designated shift period, check mechanical equipment, making adjustments as required, take samples and conduct routine tests for process control, transport and mix chemicals and operate equipment used for unloading chemicals.
