Western Community College invites applications from qualified and experienced candidates to teach the Health Care Assistant Program (Practical), forevening shifts(Mon - Friday from 2 : 00 PM to 10 : 00 PM).The Clinical Instructor will be responsible for taking the students on Multi Level / complex Care Practicum. The instructor will be involved in teaching clinical skills to students and their evaluation of clinical skills.

Required Qualification

• Licensure : Current unrestricted registration as an LPN, RN, or RPN with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Teaching Competency : Demonstrated ability to teach adult learners (e.g., Provincial Instructor Diploma or equivalent, or prior teaching experience with satisfactory references or evaluations).
• Clinical Experience :
• At least two years of full-time Canadian nursing experience (1 year = 1400 hours).
• Experience working with older adults with complex health needs.
• Experience or orientation in home support and multi-level / complex care.
• Cultural Safety Training : Evidence of completion of Indigenous cultural safety and humility coursework (e.g., Sanyas training or equivalent).
• BC HCA Practice Course : Evidence of completion of the Health Care Assistant Practice in BC course (available via the Learning Hub).

Experience

Schedule : Monday to Friday, 7 : 00am-3 : 00pm, 3 : 00pm-11 : 00pm
