Payroll Manager - 7+ Months

Our client is currently working through a payroll system implementation and, in the interim, is operating with a highly manual payroll process. The successful candidate will be a hands-on payroll professional who understands the full end-to-end payroll process and can step in immediately to provide operational support and expertise.

The Payroll Consultant will be responsible for the following:

• Manage and execute end-to-end payroll processing in a hands-on capacity (4 weekly payrolls)
• Support payroll operations within a large, complex, multi-provincial payroll environment.
• Work with and support payroll processes for a highly unionized workforce.
• Utilize UKG to process payroll and generate required reports.
• Troubleshoot payroll issues and identify practical solutions within a highly manual environment.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable legislation and company requirements.
• Support payroll-related requirements associated with WSIB.
• Assist with payroll system implementation activities and process improvements.
• Provide day-to-day payroll expertise and support to the existing team during this period of transition.

Must Have:

• Hands-on, end-to-end payroll experience with a strong understanding of payroll operations.
• Experience with UKG, including the ability to pull and analyze payroll reports.
• Experience managing large, multi-provincial
• Experience working in a unionized environment; experience with heavily unionized organizations is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of WSIB requirements and processes.
• Ability to work effectively within a manual payroll environment while systems and processes are being implemented.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly step into an existing payroll operation.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and accountability

3 days per week in-office in Oakville (Mon/Tues + 1 day)
