Tech Lead

Salary: $150,000 - 190,000 per year

Requirements:

• At least 8 years of experience in solution architecture, software engineering, or technical consulting, including 8 years in software development.
• Demonstrated success designing and deploying complex, scalable enterprise systems.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP; APIs; microservices; and integration patterns.
• Familiarity with enterprise IT systems, infrastructure, security practices, and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain complex topics to varied audiences.
• Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams in fast-moving environments.
• English proficiency.
• Availability to work in Toronto, Ontario, in a hybrid arrangement.
• Preferred: experience in startup or high-growth environments, or in fintech, healthcare, or SaaS.
• Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, TOGAF, or similar certification.
• Preferred: experience leading architecture in client-facing or consulting roles.

Responsibilities:

• Translate customer and product needs into scalable, end-to-end technical architectures.
• Design systems for cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments using modern tools and frameworks.
• Develop proofs of concept, architecture diagrams, documentation, and technical proposals.
• Ensure designs follow industry best practices for security, scalability, and performance.
• Partner with sales, product, and engineering teams to shape solution strategy.
• Lead discovery sessions and technical deep dives with internal teams and client stakeholders.
• Explain architecture decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support handoffs to delivery teams and remain engaged during critical delivery phases.
• Assess emerging technologies for potential use in our technology stack.
• Contribute to knowledge-sharing, design standards, and architecture best practices.
• Mentor engineers and strengthen technical thinking across the team.
