Hi! We are a family of five living in Calgary, and we are looking for a caring, patient, responsible, and reliable sitter to help with our children, especially our 4-year-old daughter, Elisse, who is autistic. Elisse is a sweet, active, and loving child. She communicates, but she may have difficulty expressing her needs verbally and sometimes communicates by gestures, taking an adults hand, or showing what she wants. She may also repeat words or phrases she hears. She does best with someone who is calm, patient, gentle, and understanding. She enjoys playing, watching her favorite videos, toys, music, and other activities that keep her engaged. She has some sensory sensitivities and may become overwhelmed or have a meltdown when she is frustrated, tired, or uncomfortable. During these moments, she needs a calm adult who can keep her safe, give her space, and patiently help her calm down.
