Project Manager - Building Restoration

MatchBox Consulting Group is working with a growing engineering consultancy that is seeking a Project Manager to join their expanding Building Restoration team in Calgary. With a strong national presence and an established reputation in building restoration, structural engineering, and building envelope consulting, the company is continuing to grow across Canada with a strong project pipeline extending into 2026 and 2027.

As a Project Manager – Building Restoration, you will manage projects through the full lifecycle, from initial investigation and design through tendering, construction and closeout. You'll work directly with clients, contractors and other consultants while receiving support from experienced Project Principals and senior technical staff. Responsibilities

• Manage building restoration projects from initial investigation through completion
• Conduct site investigations and assess existing building conditions
• Develop restoration concepts, recommendations, scopes of work and specifications
• Prepare technical reports, drawings and project documentation
• Lead proposal development, including scope, fees, schedules and resource planning
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, architects and other engineering disciplines
• Chair project meetings and communicate project updates and milestones
• Manage tendering and contractor selection processes
• Oversee construction administration, including site reviews, invoices and change orders
• Provide technical direction throughout construction
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and industry partners
• Support and mentor junior engineers and technical staff
• Participate in industry events and networking opportunities
• Travel occasionally within Canada, with the majority of projects located in Alberta

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a related discipline
• 5+ years of experience in building restoration, building envelope and/or structural restoration
• P.Eng. designation or eligibility for registration with APEGA
• Experience managing projects from design through construction
• Strong understanding of project budgets, schedules, scopes and resource planning
• Experience with technical reports, specifications, drawings and construction administration
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Comfortable working directly with clients and contractors
• Strong attention to detail and a client-focused approach
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
