Software QA Tester

Salary: $55,000 - 55,000 per year

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in software testing; a computer-related program is an asset. A degree or diploma in software testing, computer science, or a related discipline is also listed. Secondary school education is preferred.
• At least 2 years of software testing experience and 2 years of experience working with a Scrum team.
• At least 1 year of experience preparing automated tests; automated testing experience is required.
• Experience developing automated tests for desktop and web environments, and experience with end-user support and testing.
• Preferred experience of 1 year each with TFS, Git, Microsoft DevOps, C#, Selenium and Appium, and Python.
• Understanding of networking and database support.
• Proficiency with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, email, and internet applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, organization, analytical thinking, and a collaborative approach to working with teams toward strategic goals.
• Must be authorized to work in Canada and able to reliably commute to Edmonton; this is an in-person role and applicants must live in the Edmonton area.

Responsibilities:

• Understand project scope and collaborate with developers and project support teams.
• Identify business requirements and contribute to product planning.
• Conduct stress, performance, functional, and scalability testing.
• Write and execute test scripts, and run manual and automated tests.
• Test software across different environments, including web and mobile.
• Document bugs and provide objective feedback to the development team.
• Examine software quality and user experience, and continually improve the testing process.
