Position Summary The Machine Builder will be responsible for assembling, installing, testing and troubleshooting large industrial machinery and automated equipment.
The successful candidate will be comfortable reading mechanical and schematic drawings, using hand and power tools, troubleshooting mechanical systems and working in a manufacturing environment.
The role may also involve travelling to customer locations in Canada, the United States and internationally to support equipment installation and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities Assemble large industrial machines and automated equipment according to engineering drawings, specifications and project requirements.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
Install and assemble mechanical components, hydraulic systems and related machine parts.
Troubleshoot mechanical problems during machine assembly, testing and commissioning.
Perform machine installation and setup at the company facility and customer locations.
Use hand tools and power tools including wrenches, sockets, drills, impact drivers and other standard machine-building tools.
Conduct machine testing and identify mechanical or assembly issues before equipment is shipped or commissioned.
Assist with troubleshooting, adjustments, modifications and corrective actions during machine installation.
Work with machine builders, technicians, engineers and project teams to complete equipment builds.
Communicate professionally with customers and other technicians during field installations and service activities.
Identify non-conformances, quality issues and opportunities for improvement.
Follow company safety procedures and manufacturing requirements.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Support overtime requirements when necessary to meet project deadlines.
Travel to customer sites in Canada, the United States and internationally when required.
Work safely at heights, including approximately 15 feet, when required for machine installation or assembly.
Perform other machine-building and mechanical assembly duties as required.
Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience working with large industrial machinery or equipment manufacturing.
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on mechanical assembly experience.
Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and schematics.
Experience assembling industrial machinery, equipment or automated systems.
Experience using hand tools and power tools.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with technicians, engineers and customers.
Willingness to work overtime when required.
Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25%.
Valid Canadian passport or appropriate authorization/visa to travel to the United States and other countries as required.
Ability to reliably commute to Concord, Ontario or relocate before starting.

Experience working with large hydraulic presses.
Experience with automated machinery.
Milling machine experience.
Lathe experience.
Mechanical installation and commissioning experience.
Field service or industrial equipment installation experience.
Experience troubleshooting hydraulic systems.
Experience working directly with customers at industrial sites.

Work Schedule Monday to Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Overtime may be required depending on project requirements and production schedules.
Travel Requirement This position requires approximately 25% travel .
Travel may include: Ontario and other locations across Canada.
United States customer sites.
International customer locations as required.
Candidates must have a valid Canadian passport or appropriate travel authorization for required international travel.
Physical & Work Environment This is a hands-on manufacturing position requiring the ability to: Work with large industrial machinery.
Stand and work on machinery for extended periods.
Use hand and power tools.
Work in a manufacturing environment.
Work at heights of approximately 15 feet when required.
Work overtime when required by project schedules.
