Requirements:
- Diploma, certificate, degree, or equivalent professional experience in Information Technology, Computer Systems, Networking, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in IT support, systems administration, infrastructure, or a related technical area.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot advanced technical issues, manage escalations, and support customer infrastructure.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Google Workspace, Active Directory, networking, and cloud security.
- Hands-on cybersecurity experience spanning endpoints, identity, email, cloud, network security, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Experience with MDR, EDR/XDR, ITDR, security monitoring, MFA, Conditional Access, endpoint hardening, and security baselines.
- Experience supporting business-class firewalls, switches, VPNs, backup and recovery, RMM, and endpoint management platforms.
- Familiarity with CRM, PSA, ITSM, and ticketing platforms; ConnectWise experience is an asset.
- Previous experience with a Managed Services Provider (MSP) is a strong asset.
- Practical experience with AI-enabled business tools, Microsoft Copilot, automation, or emerging Microsoft AI technologies is an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, organization, customer communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and contribute effectively as part of a team.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel to customer locations as needed.
- Willingness and ability to participate in after-hours or on-call escalation coverage when required.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex incidents involving servers, networks, cloud, endpoints, security, and business applications.
- Support Microsoft and Google environments, including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
- Support business-class firewalls, switching, VLANs, VPNs, Wi-Fi, virtualization, backup and recovery, and business continuity solutions.
- Perform root-cause analysis, identify recurring problems and technical debt, and recommend practical corrective actions.
- Collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve complex or business-impacting technical issues.
- Work primarily from our local office and travel to customer sites for troubleshooting, assessments, installations, projects, and escalations as needed.
- Review customer environments for vulnerabilities, risky configurations, unsupported systems, monitoring gaps, weak security controls, and other technical risks.
- Investigate and respond to security alerts and incidents, including phishing, suspicious sign-ins, compromised accounts, malware, endpoint threats, and identity-related events.
- Administer and improve endpoint protection, MDR, EDR/XDR, ITDR, email and identity security, MFA, Conditional Access, and other managed security platforms.
- Review security monitoring across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, Google Workspace endpoints, RMM, firewalls, backup platforms, and other managed systems.
- Support vulnerability remediation, security hardening, security baselines, incident containment and recovery, and post-incident reviews.
- Explain identified risks and recommendations clearly to customers and management, and help drive remediation to prevent compromise or service disruption.
- Provide senior-level support for Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, identity management, cloud security, and related migrations.
- Evaluate practical AI and automation tools that could improve customer environments, monitoring, security, and service delivery.
- Support Microsoft Copilot and other Microsoft AI-enabled services where appropriate, taking security, privacy, permissions, and data protection into account.
- Lead or contribute to infrastructure, Microsoft 365/Azure, Google Workspace, security, server, network, and migration projects.
- Review technical requirements, risks, dependencies, implementation plans, testing, documentation, and technical handoffs.
- Communicate technical issues, risks, recommendations, and project status clearly to technical and non-technical customers.
- Mentor Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians during escalations and help improve internal technical documentation and standards.
- Keep tickets, project records, customer environment details, and technical documentation accurate and current.
- Identify opportunities to standardize environments, improve monitoring, reduce recurring issues, and transition repeatable work to Tier 1 or Tier 2.
