Our client, an established automotive dealership group in the Durham Region, is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead day-to-day human resources across its operations. This is a hands-on, broad-scope role suited to an HR professional who enjoys working closely with leadership and employees in a fast-paced, multi-location environment. The successful candidate will bring strong generalist experience, sound judgment, and the ability to balance employee support with business priorities. Key Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day HR operations and provide guidance to managers and employees across the organization.

Support recruitment and hiring, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, offers, and onboarding.

Advise leaders on employee relations matters, performance management, attendance, conflict resolution, and progressive discipline.

Support workforce planning, employee engagement, retention, and succession planning initiatives.

Maintain HR policies, procedures, employee records, and documentation in accordance with applicable employment legislation.

Oversee and support performance review processes, training, and employee development.

Assist with compensation and benefits administration, payroll coordination, and HR reporting.

Support health and safety initiatives, workplace investigations, and return-to-work processes as required.

Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and create consistent practices across dealership locations.

Build strong relationships with employees and leaders while promoting a positive, accountable workplace culture.
Qualifications

5+ years of progressive HR generalist experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.

Broad knowledge of HR practices across recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR administration.

Experience supporting a multi-location, retail, automotive, hospitality, or similarly fast-paced operating environment is preferred.

Working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.

Ability to manage competing priorities, exercise discretion, and handle confidential information.

A practical, solutions-oriented approach with the confidence to advise and support leaders.

Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field; CHRP/CHRL designation is an asset.
