Job description

Salary: $90,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with HPE Non-Stop Guardian
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical writing skills
  • Experience working in Agile teams, using Scrum or Kanban
  • Familiarity with FX, money markets, or financial services is an asset
  • Experience using AI/ML tools in a software engineering workflow is an asset
  • Bachelors degree required
  • 5 years of COBOL experience required
  • 3 years of TAL experience required
  • 3 years of mainframe development experience required
  • 3 years of Linux experience required
  • French is not required

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain legacy RIMMS programs using COBOL
  • Conduct unit testing, troubleshoot issues, and support quality assurance
  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, QA, and DevOps throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Prepare technical design documents
  • Develop production delivery plans and participate in production implementation

At Lexo, were hiring a Senior COBOL Developer to work with our cross-functional team, with support and mentorship from senior technical leaders. This position is available as a permanent or contract role, with an expected start date of November 1, 2026. The role is based in downtown Toronto, Ontario, with a hybrid schedule of two onsite days per week; candidates in other cities may work remotely. Pay starts at $90,000 per year, with the rate for contract arrangements to be determined. Benefits include dental, extended health, and vision care, as well as paid time off.
