Hudson Entry & Automation is a construction and service company. We design, install, service, and maintain the systems that let people and vehicles in — and keep the wrong ones out.

That means:

• Automated gates: cantilever slide, swing, bi-fold, barrier arms, operators, loops, photo eyes, safety edges.
• Overhead doors, rolling steel, docks, and dock levellers.
• Commercial pedestrian doors, hollow metal frames, hardware, closers, and life-safety openings.
• Automatic door operators.
• Access control, readers, keypads, electrified hardware, intercoms, and gate/door integration.
• Locksmithing, restricted keying, and master key systems.
• Planned maintenance and emergency repair.

The work lives on jobsites, in drawings, on a dispatch board, and in a quote. Concrete, steel, conduit, motors, controls, and hardware — not a call centre with a construction logo on it.

This is not a generic office coordinator job.

You are air traffic control for a specialty construction and service company.

A plant calls: the sliding gate is dead and trucks are stacked at the fence.

A contractor emails a door schedule and wants a quote tomorrow.

A technician is on a ladder, needs a part, and the customer is standing there.

A project is waiting on a drawing clarification, a lead time, and a crew day.

You turn that chaos into a scheduled job, a scoped quote, a clean invoice, and a customer who does not have to chase anyone.

This is a project-first operations seat. Most of the time you are moving jobs from quote to schedule to install to closeout: scope, paperwork, materials, customer updates, and the hand-offs that keep a project from stalling.

When service needs backup, you step in on dispatch and follow-up. When a quote needs to get out, you help build it. “That’s not my job” is not a thing here. The work in front of the customer is the job.

What you will actually be doing:

Project coordination
This is the core of the seat. You keep installs moving from booked to done: scope, drawings, materials, crew days, customer updates, documentation, and handoffs. You watch lead times, catch missing hardware or access pieces before the site does, and keep the project from stalling between office and field.

Quoting, as required
When a quote needs to go out, you help build it. Pull scope from notes, photos, drawings, door schedules, and technician input. Price labour, materials, travel, and reality. Follow up so the work can actually get scheduled.

You do not need to arrive as a senior estimator. You do need to recognize a hollow metal frame, an operator, a reader, a loop, a closer, and a dock leveller — and know when a quote is missing something that will blow up on site.

Service dispatch backup
When the board gets heavy, you step in. Help schedule and dispatch technicians across gates, overhead doors, hardware, access, and locksmithing. Adjust when a site runs long, a part is late, or an emergency jumps the queue. You assist service. You do not get to say the board is someone else’s problem.

Invoicing and closeout
Get completed work invoiced accurately. Chase missing notes, photos, and sign-offs. A job is not finished because someone left the site.

The operating system
Keep records clean. Track job progress. Hold the line on digital documentation. If the field system is messy, everything downstream gets expensive.

If it needs doing, you do it. “That’s not my job” is not a thing in this position.

Who this is for

You will thrive here if you:

• Have worked in construction, specialty trades, or a closely related field — project coordination, estimating support, or inside operations, not only retail, warehousing, or general admin.
• Can read a drawing, a door schedule, a site photo, or a contractor email and see the real scope.
• Stay calm when a project, a parts delay, a customer, and a service backup request all land at once.
• Are comfortable making a call before every detail is perfect.
• Take the work seriously and treat people properly — customers and field techs included.
• Own the outcome: if something slips, you say so, fix it, and change the system so it does not slip twice.
• Will jump from a project file to a quote to the service board without protecting a lane.
• Hate “we’ve always done it that way,” and still respect how jobsites actually work.
• You enjoy learning and have a "growth mindset".

You will not thrive here if you:

• Need a quiet desk and a single-task day.
• Do not know construction well enough to follow a technical conversation.
• Treat dispatch, quoting, or closeout as beneath the role.
• Talk down to field staff.
• Pass problems instead of owning them.
• Are arrogant, disrespectful, or unteachable.
• Are a jerk.

No jerks. No exceptions.

Tools

You will run a cloud-based field management system for projects, scheduling, quoting, and invoicing, plus digital work orders, drawings, modern internal comms, and our internal AI-powered intranet. We will teach our systems. We will not teach you what a jobsite is.

Requirements:

• Construction or specialty-trade experience is required. Strongest fit: project coordination, estimating support, or inside operations in doors, gates, hardware, access control, electrical, mechanical, overhead doors, locksmithing, or a related trade.
• You can hold a technical conversation about site work without freezing. Motors, hardware, openings, access devices, concrete and steel as they show up on our jobs — you do not need to be the technician. You do need to know the world they work in.
• Exceptional organization, written communication, and customer service.
• Strong with spreadsheets, email, and modern office software; willing to master our field system.
• Calm, problem-solving demeanour when the day gets loud.
• Clean criminal record check (completed at the appropriate stage of hiring).

Strong assets: quoting from drawings or door schedules, project documentation, vendor and parts coordination, field-service software, and direct experience with commercial doors, gates, operators, or access control.

Retail-only, warehouse-only, or general office backgrounds will not be a fit — even if you are organized and kind.
