We are seeking an HR Coordinator to cover a 7-week leave period during our clients peak operational season.
Supporting a construction company, this role focuses primarily on HR administration, onboarding/offboarding, health and safety tracking, and WorkSafeBC injury management.
This role operates fully on-site at the clients Delta location and is a temporary casual contract (20 - 25 hours per week).

Responsibilities
Onboarding & Offboarding Administration
Draft, issue, and archive employment agreements, wage modification letters, and official employment letters.
Coordinate and complete all administrative onboarding checklists for new hires.
Process employee terminations and handle offboarding documentation in compliance with employment standards.
2. WorkSafeBC & Health & Safety Coordination
Manage WorkSafeBC injury claims, including completing and filing all worksafeBC forms!
Coordinate with managers to establish employee restrictions and build suitable Return-to-Work plans.
Track health and safety training requirements using third-party systems to ensure ongoing company-wide compliance.
3. Employee Relations & General HR Operations
Serve as an accessible, transparent point of contact for staff and management.
Handle initial employee relations steps, mediation, and preliminary documentation for workplace complaints (e.g., bullying, harassment) under BC Employment Standards and Human Rights guidelines.
Maintain employee records using the HR system (system-specific training provided by the team).
Qualifications
Experience: 1+ years of administrative HR experience, including hands-on experience with onboarding, offboarding, and termination processing.
WorkSafeBC Expertise: Direct experience filing WorkSafeBC Forms and coordinating Return-to-Work plans.
Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of BC Employment Standards Act and Human Rights Code.
Mediation & Employee Relations: Demonstrated capability in handling sensitive conversations, mediation, and basic investigation protocols.
