Job description
Tasks
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and tender documents to clearly define project scope
- Perform quantity takeoffs and estimate labor, material, equipment, and subcontracting costs
- Solicit, analyze, and compare bids from suppliers and subcontractors
- Conduct site visits, when required, to validate conditions and project constraints
- Assess the technical feasibility of projects and identify potential risks
- Prepare bid documents and cost breakdown tables
- Ensure estimates comply with client requirements
- Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, and other internal departments
- Perform any other related duties as required

Job requirements
- College diploma (DEC) in Mechanical Engineering Technology or other relevant training
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial construction (industrial equipment installation)
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Strong proficiency with computer applications and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Estimating experience (asset)
- Knowledge of piping, welding, fabricated steel structures, or boilermaking/platework (asset)
- Knowledge of English, both written and spoken (asset)
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively within a team
